  • How to rip only the subtitles without any video/audio?

    You can use the Ripper module in DVDFab to extract the subtitles from DVDs/Blu-rays/4K Ultra HD Blu-rays. To output only SRT subtitles without the video, please use the SRT profile.

  • How to render subtitles directly into the video so that the subtitles are always shown on the screen for viewing?

    There are 4 subtitle output modes available for most of the profiles under Ripper module. You can click on the Wrench button to open Advanced Settings window to adjust it:

    1> "Remux into file": you can disable or enable subtitle during playback;
    2> "Direct render to video": you cannot disable subtitles as they are embedded into the video (you can only choose one subtitle stream for converting/ripping a movie);
    3> "Extract to idx/sub file": you can disable or enable subtitle during playback, however, some players don't support this kind of subtitle file;
    4> "Extract to SRT file": only available in MP4 and MKV profile. You can enable and disable subtitles when playback.

    Passthrough profiles like "mkv.passthrough" don't support rendering subtitles into videos.

  • How to add external subtitles when converting videos to DVD/Blu-ray format?

    When using the Creator module, you can enhance your video by adding subtitles in various formats such as .srt, .smi, .ass, and .ssa. Simply navigate to the "Subtitles" tab and use the "Add External Subtitles" feature to upload your desired subtitles. You can also customize the fonts and position of the subtitles to further improve the viewing experience.

  • How to create SBS 3D video from a movie disc?

    There are many kinds of 3D profiles available for use under the Ripper module.

    1. After loading the movie disc as the source in DVDFab, select a title and open the profile panel.
    2. Next, under Format > Video, set 3D as a filter, and choose the desired 3D profile.
    3. Return to the main interface and click the Wrench icon to open the Advanced Setting panel, choose the preferred 3D format, such as Split Screen, Left/Right (Top/Bottom), Half Size 50%/Full Size 100%, etc., confirm the change and then start the conversion process.
  • How to retain the Dolby Vision while ripping 4K UHD Blu-rays?

    DVDFab Ripper module provides 4K Dolby Vision profiles for converting 4K UHD movies to digital format.

    After loading the UHD disc as the source in DVDFab, select a title and open the profile panel. Next, under Format > Video, set Dolby Vision as a filter and choose the desired profile, either MKV or MP4. And then go back to the main interface and begin the conversion process.
